Well the first All-Star Returns Are In, and it doesn’t look good - for either Antoine or Democracy. Let’s skip straight to the Western Conference results:

I’m sorry, but I have too much confidence in the masses of un-identifiable citizens in the ether-like void that is the internet, to believe that the Vote Antoine movement did not garner Mr. Walker at least 100,000 votes. Here’s more proof:

As of the time that the first returns were announced, this website had a total of 57,089 visitors. Now true, not all visitors may have voted, but then again, many of you have been voting several times a day, for multiple days. This number also does not include the many websites who have promoted the idea within their own membership - everyone from realgm.com to insidehoops.com and from espn.com to deadspin.com. I have even received emails of support from factions in Eastern Europe (who I like to call the Joey Graham-Bloc) stating the support of at least a thousand individuals in Hungary and Poland.

Clearly the NBA, or Tim Donaghy some anonymous mob associate has influenced, doctored and molested these voting results. We at allstashimmy.com shall not rest until justice is served [cold], and Antoine takes his rightful place upon the alter of All-Stardom once again.

<<...the movement to get 'Toine to New Orleans for this February's All-Star Game is already in full swing. Over at AllStarShimmy.com, they're pushing the big fella's cause on overdrive. With vivid first-person passages and eloquent rhetoric, the site's managers lead the bandwagon.
And the locomotive is picking up steam.

Regular Deadspin commenter "Unsilent Majority" notes: "Why Walker? A) He's a funny dude. B) He exemplifies the average American—lazy, overweight, and working just hard enough to collect his next paycheck, and c) Who doesn't want to see the shimmy in the 2008 All-Star Game?"

Indeed, Walker is the NBA role player we'd all want to be. There's nothing fun about being a defensive stopper. An out of shape, 3-point shooting big man listed as a guard, though? Where do I sign?

Walker's now the NBA's version of that older dude at the park, the one you have no idea how old he really is, that casually strolls onto the court, lets it fling from everywhere and just straight up shreds your team from the outside. We've all played with Antoine Walker before. He can be found in every town rec center and playground in America. He's hit the game-winning shot on you a hundred times. And every time, you just shake your head in amazement. "How'd that happen?">>

That’s right, you read correctly, the movement is getting a full head of steam. But what does that mean for you and I, Mr. & Mrs. Joe American? Well besides the obvious romantic implication I just made, it also means you need to get out there and vote for ‘toine! Not later today, not tomorrow, not after supper, but NOW.

“6 years ago, on December 11, 2001, an epic battle between the Celtics and the Knicks took place in which the Celtics won in overtime. Triumphant in defeat, Latrell Sprewell had 49 points.

However, the day that is now known as 12/11 wasn't about Sprewell, the knicks, or even the Celtics. It was about Antoine Walker. On 12/11/2001, Antoine Walker scored 42 points, including a bank shot three to send the game into overtime. Here are some more facts about 12/11:

Toine attempted a career hight 17 three-pointers (some of which were later determined to be 4pointers).

Toine made 6 out of those 17 bombs.

Toine had 9 assists and 9 rebounds...some historians argue that Toine actually had 10 assists on 12/11 because one of his airballs went into paul pierce's hands for an ally-oop.

Overall, Toine shot a respectable 14 for 33 from the field.

Toine somehow managed to come up with 3 steals

A week later against the 76ers, Toine went 0 for 11 on 3pointers.

Most importantly, TOINE recorded a season-high FOUR SHIMMIES. In actuality, Toine had double-digit shimmies, although 82games.com only records shimmies that were achieved while the clock was running. Dead ball, pregame, and postgame shimmies apparently don't count.

In remembrance, lets all vote for Toine more than we usually do on Tuesday, December 11th.

First Returns Expected soon

Well we are ankle-deep into the month of December now, and while some of you might be preparing for a nice calming holiday of egg nog and rum - and time under the mistletoe - we would like to remind you that this is not the time to relax and take your eyes off the prize. Why? Because the first NBA All-Star voting returns are due to be released very shortly!

Last year the NBA released the first returns on December 14, and if they hold true to form, we can expect some numbers within the next week. So what does this mean for each of you? It’s time to crack a red bull, plug in the expresso machine, unplug the phone, breakup with your significant other, and get down to voting for ‘Toine!

Thousands upon thousands of people from around the world have discovered this site, and we hope each and every one of you has taken the time to vote for Antoine Walker, at least once. But that’s not enough. So tell your friends, shout at your mother, cry to your father, put a link in your blog, on your myspace page, your facebook profile, make signs for your windows, paint it on your congressman’s car, do anything to get the message across: Vote Antoine Walker.

“Wolves forward Antoine Walker, when informed of an Internet campaign trying to drum up votes (at allstarshimmy.com) to get him to New Orleans in February as a West starting guard.
It's an obvious stretch to label Toine as a guard, since he's never really played it at a robust 6-9, but Walker's name appears where it does on the West ballot only because Minnesota was down to two representatives when Ricky Davis and Mark Blount were dealt to Miami for Walker on the eve of the season.
That's one less rep than the league-mandated minimum for every team, so Walker -- with his penchant for hoisting 3s and arguably the biggest name on the under-construction roster of his new team -- was the choice to take Davis' spot.”

Walker No Longer A Guard

Walker gets All-Star boost
Timberwolves star moved from guard to forward on ballot

NEW YORK (AP) -- The NBA shifted Antoine Walker from guard to forward on its All-Star ballot on Wednesday, boosting the Minnesota player's chances of making his fourth All-Star appearance.

The seven-member media panel that selected the players for the original ballot had Walker as a guard, even though he has always been listed as a forward. He was voted to play for the Eastern Conference for three All-Star games.

"I think Antoine would've done his job to the best of his ability no matter what category he's in. He just goes and plays," Timberwolves coach Randy Wittman said in Minnesota. "It's great that they did that, though, it makes total sense and we're thrilled that they made that change. That's what he's been, he's been that way (a forward) for 11 years. There's no reason to change it."

Though the paper ballots can't be changed, Walker will be moved to forward on the online ballot on www.nba.com. All votes he has received or receives in the future will be credited toward him at forward.

The All-Star game is Feb. 17 in New Orleans.
